Nose: the sherry has done its job imparting prunes, plums, and spices, but then the smoke makes its way. Mixed with the sherry sweetness.
Taste: at first quite spicy, but then chocolate, prunes, plums, old saddle leather, smokey sweetness and something herbal. It's viscous, oily, and bursting with flavor. The age is more evident in the mouth than nose.
Finish: medium, oak, and leaves a lasting sting on the tongue as well as bitterness. Once in a while I get something rubbery.
