Nose: buttery, creamy nose. Very malty. Caramel sauce. Well matured. Honey sweet with quite some vanilla and fruits. Dried apricots as well as a freshly sliced, sweet pear. Some peat smoke involved back in the time. Very delicate, complex nose.
Taste: intense but creamy start. Malty, sweet again. Caramel, creme brulee. Before suddenly rich, powerful oak is kicking in. Quite some bitterness, lots of oak now. The smokiness of the nose is probably more rich now, toasty aroma from the cask. Vanilla and caramel all over the place.
Finish: quite long malty finish actually with lots of bitter, slightly dry oakiness lingering on.
