Nose: the nose is of a deep sherry. Apple sauce, plum pie, jam pastry, raspberries and even some grenadine. The maritime elements of Bowmore are barely present. Luckily the same can be said of the lavender you get in many a Bowmore from the 1980s.
Taste: it veritably glides over the tastebuds. Almost creamy, a bit fatty even. Fruity again. Raspberry jam, plums and apples. Touch of Turkish Delight. Tobacco. And all of this wrapped in a soft blanket of smoke.
Finish: i find a wonderful balance between the fruitiness of the sherry cask and the peaty spirit of Bowmore.
