An old bottling of this obscure Highlander. Used as the base malt to VAT 69, the distillery closed in 1985 and was also seen bottled under the Hillside name. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.
Nose: very light and floral on sherbet lemon sweets, pineapple, white wine, pear and a little mint and furniture polish.
Taste: spirity and sweet, a little prickly at first on lemon sherbet and pear (reminds me of Copperberg pear cider). Custard cream biscuits and buttercream.
Finish: not that long on sweet sherbet.
