Velier and Saint James have a long history, with the former importing the rum from Martinique since the 1970s. To celebrate Velier's 70th anniversary, Marc Sassier president of the Martinque rum AOC – and Luca Gargano – president of Velier chose four Cognac casks of St James rum to blend to create this special edition. Bottled at cask-strength, this is an excellent example of agricole rum, combining the Cognac-like notes of well-aged rum with the actual Cognac notes from the casks. Elegant, complex and very tasty.
