Distilled at Yamazaki in 1998 and bottled in 2009, this is the only Yamazaki single cask to have been bottled for a temple. This one is known as “Zenkoji” and was only available in a few select places, acquired only though purchase at the temple gift shop or a nearby hotel, given as a gift to high-ranking donors or benefactors of the temple, or reserved for the local Nagano market to celebrate the regional pride associated with the temple. This is one of the most sought-after and seldom-seen collectors items in today's Japanese whisky market.
