ARDMORE

ARDMORE

One of the most underrated distilleries in Scotland. Ardmore is one of the very last authentic, old style 'Highland' single malts that retains a distinctive peat component to the distillate along with a rich oiliness and varying degrees of green fruit for good measure. It is also a whisky of which there are examples to be found stretching back to the early 20th century; although they are virtuallyy impossible to find nowadays. Classic examples from the 1960s were bottled by Cadenhead in their 'dumpy' series and more recent great examples have been produced by G&M and the distillery themselves. Always worth trying.
