Nose
Old school Islay: mineral, quite green and malty, with almost no presence of peat smoke, but instead an old school oily feel.
There is a scent of a salty sea breeze, a pebble beach, eucalyptus, chlorophyl, rope, hessian, gasoline and sewing machine oil. There is a hint of licorice root too.
Taste
Despite the low ABV which feels a bit thin, it's quite lively in the mouth, with sufficient power and spiciness. Old sherry, dried fruits and orange zest start to come through, together with damp earth and clove. The earthy side is confirmed with licorice root, and still a tad of gasoline. The green, vegetal side is a little less dominant here.
Finish
Spicy and warming, with a nice level of dryness. Next to pepper and clove, the same earthy notes stay present.
