Nose: beautiful. At the beginning, the high alcohol content of 61% ensures a cooling freshness. An intense smokiness with fruity accents flows out the glass with full force. I place the dominant smoke in the direction of a campfire with smoked aromas and a subtle tanner note. In combination with the red fruits and slightly vinous aromas very fascinating and for me so far unique. Cherries, raspberries, currants, grapes and a hint of honey and vanilla are now flooding my nose. Subtle oak notes and maritime hints linger in the background. After a good 30 minutes nosing with plenty of discoveries, the anticipation of the tasting increases.
Taste: extremely oily, silky soft and mouth-lining without end. Ample smoke and sweetness I perceive in the first moments, the tip of the tongue tingles to a pleasant extent. Campfire smoke, smoked dates in bacon and a massive sweetness of honey, vanilla and various red berries form the flavor foundation. The beautiful smoke is always present, plenty of cherries, currants, blackberries, oranges, grapefruit and honey with vanilla pods ensure the fruity-sweet impact that lasts long. In the background linger again a subtle oak and maritime notes, especially salty hints are palpable. Extremely complex, balanced and harmonious.
Finish: very long. The smoke pushes again correctly and is now slightly ashy. A light pepperiness and fruity-sweet aromas make for a complex finish. After 1-2 minutes a little drier, with a slight bitterness. The smoke stays for a few minutes, and some salt is added again.
