A lovely little rum bottling from the van Wees’s Ultimate Company (better known for their stellar whisky bottlings).
This rum is a blend of Guyanese Demerara and Jamaican rum, both produced from sugarcane molasses and distilled in pot stills. After three years of tropical maturation, the Guyanese rum is shipped to Amsterdam, where the Jamaican rum is added.
The Demerara rum brings heavier, dark flavours of crumbling brown sugar, coffee, dark chocolate, the Jamaican rum adds notes of funk ester, floral flavours and tropical fruit.
A beautifully balanced rum, perfect both for drinking neat, or mixing into cocktails.
